- The World's Biomes - This website focuses on the five major biomes. It gives a brief descriptions of biomes, then links to the five major biomes. Within each biome is a description of that biomes sub-biomes.
- Biomes of the World - This website has a map of the world that shows the location of each biome. It also has pages of information on each specific biome.
- Mission Biomes - This website is part of the NASA Earth Observatory. This is a great start for students to get basic information on the biomes. It gives temperature, precipitation, vegetation, location and a description of seven different biomes.
- Biomes and Communities Definition - This short YouTube video gives a very good basic explanation of what a biome is.
- World Biomes - This website has a brief introductory page, but its strength is the links to each of nine different biomes. Each link then links to plants, animals and climate for that biome.
- What's it Like? - This website gives detailed information on each of six land biomes, three freshwater ecosystems and three marine ecosystems.
- Biome in a Baggie - An experiment to create your own biome using a 2-liter soda bottle and a baggie.
- Major World Biomes - This site focuses on the 5 major biomes. It gives a brief definition of what a biome is, and then specific information on each of the 5 major biomes.
- Bill Nye explains biodiversity in this YouTube video. Although it is does not specifically mention biomes, it explains how everything in a biome are interrelated. This video will help if you are having trouble with the extinction project.
